What are some of the questions we’re often asked?

Does it cost to use Koll?

  • Koll is actually completely free for individuals, and there is no dog buried in it at all

  • Calls between Koll users are free of charge

  • There is no charge for making a call from the Koll app to a normal phone, but your telecoms operator will charge you according to its tariff.

  • If you want to provide the caller's details and the subject of the call to the person you are calling on your regular phone, that information will be sent as an SMS and Koll will pay for the SMS on your behalf.

  • Businesses pay a fixed monthly fee per user for the use of their Koll business account and SMS messages sent above the basic package are billed according to usage.

How can I get the most out of the Koll app?

  • Send a text message "I can be reached using Koll" to people calling you from an unfamiliar number. You can find the free Koll app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.". This will start to reduce the number of people calling you from strange numbers.

  • Recommend the Koll app to people close to you, both at work and at leisure, so you can make everyday calls with Koll. You can make a recommendation verbally or even by message. You can also send a recommendation directly from the Koll app to the person of your choice.

  • If you receive a lot of calls related to your work, use your LinkedIn profile, your email signature and your employer's website to direct callers to reach you with the Koll app. You should add your Koll username to your contact details, which is the easiest way to find you on Koll, while removing your traditional phone number from your contact details. The less your traditional phone number is displayed, the less unwanted calls you will receive.

Is it safe to make Koll calls?

  • Koll is much safer than a traditional phone

    • There are no strangers or phone numbers on Koll, so you always know who is calling you and what it's about.

    • With Koll, all users and businesses call using their own identity, significantly reducing the risk of criminal or otherwise malicious activity

    • Strong authentication is coming soon to Koll. You'll see a strong authentication label on the call screen to make sure the caller is who they say they are.

    • You can give the caller a positive or negative reaction to the call without answering, reducing unwanted calls

    • You can report any disruptive activity or abuse of the service to the administrator at any time. The administrator will also proactively address unwanted activity.

    • It is not possible to eavesdrop on Koll calls due to multi-layered encryption

    • Koll meets strict security requirements for communications service providers

What information is stored about me?

  • Your personal data will be managed in accordance with the European Union's GDPR regulation and all data will be stored on servers located within the European Union.

  • The information stored about you in your profile: your name, username, phone number, and location. Your email address will also be recorded if you have shared it with Koll. 

  • Your call history is stored in the service: the time of the calls, to whom you called, who called you, the reasons for the call and the call reactions.

  • You will also be saved the content of any requests for support if you have been in contact with Koll-support.

  • No recording or analysis of call content is made

  • Access to the data is secured against external threats and only designated Koll administrators can view the data

  • Your data will not be sold to third parties

  • At any time, you can request a report on the data stored about you in the service.

  • You can also request at any time to close your account, after which your profile information will be deleted. Please note that it is not possible to delete your call history.

How do you take Koll into use?

Whether you are a company or a private person, you can download the Koll app for free from your app store.

After registering, just edit your profile to your liking, and then you'll be ready to make and receive calls in a whole new way!
